Community can take pride in Health Facility

Premier Daniel Andrews tours Moyne Health at the official opening in July 2017.

Port Fairy's new community health facility was officially opened today by Premier Daniel Andrews.

Western Victoria MP James Purcell said he was delighted to join Mr Andrews on a tour of the new facilities, which will soon expand again thanks to an additional $2.1 million for a new urgent care centre, secured by Mr Purcell in this year’s budget.

“The Urgent Care Centre will be the icing on the cake. It will immediately address the current structural and functional building and improve critical patient care,” Mr Purcell said.

"This part of the project is shovel ready so we look forward to seeing it become a reality soon.”

Mr Purcell said the $11 million development is integrated into the existing hospital, creating a single destination for community health services, outpatient and hospital services.

“Modern and integrated healthcare facilities like this have an enormously positive impact on the health outcomes and wellbeing of our community.

“The local community has worked hard fundraising for this project and they should be very proud today at the official opening to see such a great outcome."
